Colors, sizes and shapes of the ornamental stones catches the attention at Vitoria Stone Fair.

There is still time for architects, designers and industry professionals to stop by Vitoria Stone Fair, at Pavilhão de Carapina, in Serra, and be enchanted by the beauty of the stands assembled from the elegance of the stones. From the most brilliant and exuberant to the most matte and minimalist, the stones can be seen and knowing during the whole event, with a beautiful visual and sensorial experience.

According to the architect Rômulo Pegoretti, quartzites, one of the most abundant stones in Brazil, are at the top of the stones that attract attention at the fair. In addition to the unique veins and different colors, quartzite also stands out due to its translucent characteristic. “The retro lighting that these stones make possible in the composition of more sophisticated and elegant environments, as can be seen throughout the fair”, he added.

Emphasizing the possibility of transforming natural stones into works of art, the Naturale space, designed by Rômulo Pegoretti, has an “angel’s wing” made of white marble and CNC machined. Second him, advanced technologies make it possible to create micro details in stones.

The Water Jat machines, which cut the stones using jets of water, and the CNC, which, like a pen, carves the stones, make it possible to reuse parts that would otherwise be disposable. “These technological advances have added a lot of value because what would be rubbish ends up becoming a luxury. It’s’ very important to know how to reuse all the materials in the chain, transforming, for example, a block that would otherwise be discarded, into an exclusive and unique piece”, he pointed out.

Following this line of reuse of stones, Stone Master Cubas Naturais – a company located in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim – is exhibiting rustic bath tubs and sinks made from discarded stones. One of the products, by the way, is part of the decoration of Big Brother Brasil 2023. “We try to offer the most sustainable products. We take materials that would be discarded in nature for a long time and visually polluting the environment and transform them into usable products”, said the company’s sales director, Sérgio Cecote.

Stone Concept

Still talking about the beauty of the materials and the cutting innovation, the Vitoria Stone Fair dedicated an exclusive space to connect the architecture and design markets to those of ornamental stones. In it are exposed several stones transformed into exclusive pieces to compose functional and sustainable environments.

The architect Vivian Coser says that the space was developed to inspire and expand the vision of the companies about the ways to use the natural stones. “There’s no limits to the use of the natural stones. It is the most versatile material available in the world. With the use of the technologies it is possible to transform the stones in true jewelry and work of art”, she completes.

The project is materialized in installations that show the life cycle of ornamental stones, from extraction in quarries, through cutting and preparation, to reaching the hands of professionals who will specify and use creativity to transform the stones into design materials.

Among the pieces that stand out is the “Mesa Curvatura”. The material developed by the company Brasigran Granitos, by designer Guilherme Moretzsohn, it is made from Rafaello stone and represents the phenomenon of space-time. What caughts attention are the curves created in the stone that gently rests on the ground, giving a sensation of movement and subtlety to a material that is raw and rigid.

Vitoria Stone Fair is a realization of Milanez & MIlaneze, promoted by Sindirochas and Cetemag and support of Centrorochas, with partnership of Bandes, Caixa, Sicood, Sesi, Senai and CREA-ES.
