A Glimpse into the Future: Official Opening of Vitoria Stone Fair 2024 Presents New Industry Trends

The official opening ceremony of Vitoria Stone Fair, held this Tuesday (30), highlighted the event’s commitment to drive the Brazilian natural stone sector. The fair, a reference in natural stone in the Americas, is also a showcase for the latest trends and technologies in the industry, revealing significant market changes and future expectations.

Flávia Milaneze, CEO of Milanez & Milaneze, welcomed visitors and reaffirmed that the fair is a conducive environment for conducting business. “Our expectation is that through this extensive exhibition of exhibitors’ material solutions launches, visitors can learn about trends and establish relationships within the sector’s production chain. I invite everyone to explore, connect, and experience the world of possibilities that Vitoria Stone Fair offers. I hope this edition marks another successful milestone, and the next few days are filled with rewarding discoveries,””, . she said

Italian Republic Senator and Vice-President of the Veronafiere group, Matteo Gelmetti, spoke about expanding business in the country. “Verona believes strongly in Brazil’s potential. After all, the country is the fourth-largest producer of ornamental rocks and the fifth-largest exporter, in addition to having the greatest variety of rocks in the world.”

On behalf of Sindirochas, President Ed Martins emphasized the importance of companies adapting to the market and thinking about new uses in the sector. “The issue of getting closer to architects and designers is important so that we can use stones in ways not yet thought of, with other people, generating demand,” he pointed out.

Tales Machado, President of the Brazilian Center for Exporters of Ornamental Rocks (Centrorochas), stressed sustainability in the market. “The natural stone sector emits five times less than synthetic and 10 times less than the carpet sector. So, if we raise numbers about our environmental impact, we can defend our sustainability. The stone sector demands much more; we need to unite and communicate.”

Mauro Henrique Souza, Director of the National Mining Agency, highlighted the grandeur of the Rock sector in Brazil and brought a future market perspective with technology: “We have more than 1200 varieties of rock, a segment that contributes to the country’s development. Therefore, by the end of the year, we are seeking to improve new communication processes with the aid of Artificial Intelligence.”

The Vice-Governor, Ricardo Ferraço, concluded the solemn ceremony addressing the economic growth of Espírito Santo. “May we have much esteem and pride in what the state is building. Espírito Santo has been successful! The ornamental rock sector has a tremendous social impact on job creation and opportunities, as well as the prosperity of the state. We look at the present with great hope; if we can achieve these results, we will go far beyond. Congratulations to all entrepreneurs who are building this extraordinary economic advance in the natural stone sector, which is a reference in Brazil,” he commented.

The ceremony welcomed local, national, and international authorities. Also present were Cris Samorini, president of Findes; Sandro Mabel, secretary director of the National Confederation of Industry; Breno Zaban Carneiro, acting secretary of geology, mining, and mineral transformation.
